Faithful Over the Field
Dr. Sandra L. Withers sees stewardship beyond finances and goals. For her, it looks like land, early mornings, animal care, crops, community and choosing faithfulness when the assignment is costly.
In the January 2026 Everything New issue, Dr. Withers invites readers to look again at what it means to care for what God has placed in their hands. Her work at Black Diamonds Estate, Inc. in Taylor County, Georgia, is both agricultural and spiritual: a commitment to cultivate land while creating room for education, restoration and connection.
More Than a Farm
As one of the first Black women to own and operate a full farm in Taylor County, Dr. Withers is building a faith-centered agricultural and community space. Sustainable farming, animal care, educational programming and community initiatives all meet in a vision rooted in service.
The farm is not presented as a polished symbol of success. It is a living assignment that asks for patience, consistency, humility and trust in God’s timing. That perspective turns stewardship from an abstract principle into daily practice.

Faithful When It Is Hard
Dr. Withers’ story reminds readers that stewardship is not perfection. It is the decision to remain responsible, prayerful and present—especially when growth is slow or the work is unseen. Land, animals, people and influence all require care, and each can become part of a legacy when handled with intention.
She brings to this work a life of ministry, Christian counseling, pediatric nursing, authorship and entrepreneurship. Through Black Diamonds Estate and Heart 2 Hearts Bereavement Concierge Services, she continues to connect faith with practical care for people and community.
